National Security

National security isn’t just about military strength—it’s about smart, strategic leadership that builds strong alliances abroad while addressing threats here at home. A strong defense is essential, but we cannot rely on force alone to keep our country safe. Diplomacy, cooperation, and preparation are just as important in ensuring our security in an increasingly complex world.

One of the most critical aspects of national security is working with our allies to address global challenges. Strong alliances are the foundation of American leadership, and I will work to rebuild and strengthen partnerships with democratic nations to counter terrorism, address climate change, and manage global health crises. At the same time, we must hold authoritarian regimes like Russia and China accountable for human rights abuses, cyberattacks, and violations of international norms. I will support targeted sanctions and diplomatic pressure to defend democracy and human rights worldwide.

Cybersecurity is one of the most pressing threats we face today. Foreign adversaries and criminal organizations constantly target our critical infrastructure—power grids, financial systems, healthcare networks—with cyberattacks that could cause widespread disruption. I support major investments to modernize outdated systems, fund cybersecurity research, and strengthen public-private partnerships to defend against these threats. We also need to train a new generation of cybersecurity experts by investing in education and workforce development programs that prepare Americans for careers in this vital field.

Here at home, national security also means taking care of those who have served on the frontlines—our veterans. Too many veterans struggle with physical injuries, PTSD, or difficulty finding stable employment after their service. I will fight to ensure veterans receive high-quality healthcare through the VA system, including timely mental health services. We must expand job training programs and career placement services so veterans can transition successfully into civilian life. No veteran should ever be homeless—I support increasing funding for housing assistance programs and expanding access to counseling and addiction treatment for those who need it.

Finally, we must prepare for emerging threats like climate change, which poses risks to global stability and American communities alike. Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and resource scarcity can exacerbate conflicts while threatening our safety at home. I will ensure our military incorporates climate risks into its planning and invests in resilient infrastructure on bases.

Strengthening national security requires a comprehensive approach—balancing military readiness with diplomacy, cybersecurity preparedness, care for our veterans, and proactive measures against emerging threats like climate change. By working with allies abroad, holding adversaries accountable, protecting critical infrastructure from cyberattacks, and supporting those who have served this country honorably, we can build a safer future while upholding the values that make us strong as a nation.
